MiniArt has released a new aircraft into their range in 1/48th scale and this is a rare one I believe the Junker’s F13 Early Prod.

Review

This release from MiniArt, I am sure is one of those kits you would not be expecting. Interior detail is very pleasing, including harnesses in photo etch and even the chain drive on the yoke for controlling the aircraft. A very nicely detailed engine is included, but views of it will be limited. The huge radiator in the front looks like it belongs in a car. Photo etch detail has a fairly liberal application in this release, but I am sure there will be other details that you can add yourself. The interior structure of the aircraft is not quite what I was expecting, as it is my understanding that the corrugated appearance was also present on the interior, but where this feature is included on the interior it is very pleasing.

Moving to construction, and those robust interior supports come into their own as the fuselage is top, bottom, left and right sides - so make sure you clean them up properly before installation. Flights controls on the tail are fixed, but they can be set as desired on the wings. There are some very nice wing spars, but I do not know how you would see these in the finished release. Also present within the wings, is another support structure that will help maintain the wings in the correct orientation, give you positive location and are in my opinion a needed support structure. The under carriage only really requires the modeller to add some brake lines. Looking at the exterior of the fuselage and wings, the corrugated effect is especially nicely replicated, and I believe that every modeller will be happy with how this is represented. The only bit I am not a fan of, is the photo etched aileron actuating arms as I am just not a fan of using small photo etched parts any-more., I do believe that the result of building this model will be very pleasing for the modeller, and particularly eye catching due to the corrugated detail and unusual look.

There are 3 finishing options, all of which are quite colourful. These are:
