“AMP "Secret project" 1/72 early Horten H IX V1 project with 2 BMW 003 jet engines”…………MikroMir

The Horten H.IX was a test vehicle for the ‘3x1000’ project. It required an aircraft to travel 1000km at 1000kph and carry 1000kg of bombs.  The RLM designation was Ho 229 or Gotha Go 229. The V1 was an unpowered glider and V2 was fitted with Junkers Jumo 004. The preferred engine would have been the BMW 003. The test pilot of the V2 Leutnant Erwin Ziller was killed on the third test flight after a crash caused by a engine fire. V3 was under construction and was larger in size. It was to provide the pattern for production.
