1/48 U.S. Navy F/A-18 A/A42R-1 “Buddy” Air Refuelling Store Pods with Drogues

Our new 1/48 A/A42R-1 “Buddy” air refuelling store pod set for U.S. Navy F/A-18 aircraft is now available.

This set is designed for modelers who want to add a more distinctive carrier aviation detail to their F/A-18 display. The A/A42R-1 buddy refuelling pod is an important piece of equipment for U.S. Navy probe-and-drogue refuelling scenes, and it can greatly enrich aircraft parked displays, carrier deck dioramas, maintenance scenes, or in-flight refuelling configurations.

The set includes detailed refuelling store pods with carefully reproduced panel lines, access panels, small surface fittings, rear turbine/propeller details, and separate drogue basket parts. A flexible hose and decal markings are also included, allowing the pod to be displayed with the drogue stowed or deployed.

The open drogue basket has been designed with fine 3D printed structure to better capture the delicate appearance of the real refuelling basket in 1/48 scale.
