Hawker Typhoon Bubble Canopy?

Airscale is considering a blown hood conversion for the car door version of the 1:32 scale Hawker Typhoon Mk.I

Time to share the ups and downs of limited run production... I have been working on a conversion set for the Car Door 1/32 Typhoon kit coming in February 2026...

I know some folks prefer it, even if the poll I ran came out 60/40 for the Car Door, I would be a much happier camper if there was a choice (with work needed of course 

The problem is the hood - I think I can make all the other bits work, but a blown hood cannot be moulded by my most incredible mould makers. Yes, it can be done, but you need to sink a LOT of money into that even if I could find someone. I only want a very limited number so that isn't going to happen. There are of course alternatives like resin, vacform or even an IM Sea Fury Hood so if I can make something work, I will.

Can't say it will happen, and I can't say it won't, so for now it is just a beautiful thing to look at...
