This superb build is Fairey Swordfish Unit: 823 NAS, FAA Serial: 804 (K5972) by modelling friend Devin Bauermeister, Part of the initial Fairey-built production batch in the markings of 823 squadron embarked on HMS Glorious in 1936. The fin stripes identifies the Flight aircraft. HMS Glorious she was originally built as battlecruiser and commissioned in 1917. She took part in WW1 in North Sea. In 1924 conversion to aircraft carrier started, in 1930 she was commissioned in new aircraft carrier role, she operated in Mediterranean Sea when World War II broke out in September 1939. In October 1939 she moved through the Suez Canal to the Indian Ocean and participated in the hunting for the Graf Spee. From April 1940 she operated off Norwegian coast. In the night of 7/8 June, 1940 during the evacuation from Norway she was intercepted by German battlecruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. Germans sunk the carrier and her escort. 1519 men lost
