Again, some Phantom items. Both are for the Tamiya F-4B, both are chin pods.

The first is an IRST (infra-red search and track) pod which was fitted to all early production F-4B's. This is a drop-in resin replacement part.

The second is the Non-IRST pod (early). Early on, it was discovered that the IRST system actually didn't work all that well and it was deleted. The forward sensor was replaced with an aerodynamic, empty fairing. This remained in use for quite some time. This is different from the pod with the later, larger fairing that is included in the kit"..............................................Hypersonic Models
