This was a new tool from Hasegawa first released in 1984 [Scalemates]. The F-20 was a evolution of Northrop's F-5E Tiger II, featuring a new engine [General Electric F404] and avionics. Seen as lower cost answer to equipping smaller air forces. Only three prototypes were built, though these were built to production standard. It was described as the "one of the best fighters that never went into production."
