Wingleader Ltd has published a new book on the Avro Manchester in RAF Service (Wingleader Photo Archive Number 23)

Volume 23 of the Wingleader Photo Archive: Avro Manchester. Many of the modifications and innovations that were introduced on the Manchester went on to be part of the mighty Lancaster.  Although badly let down by its Rolls-Royce Vulture engines, the Manchester was a very modern design for its day and deserves its place in RAF history, having taken part in raids on Berlin and the Channel Dash of Scharnhorst and Gneisenau.

Written by Peter Allam, the son of a Lancaster pilot and an expert on Avro's wartime bombers, this book has superb high-res images throughout, revealing the lumps, bumps and details that have been overlooked since WW2.
