Review
MiniArt just like a number of other model companies likes to get the most from their releases, and so they have now released the under-slung items from their P47 models in a 1/48th scale as stand alone items. This release is provided in one of their end opening cartons which I am not a fan of due to the ease with which they are crushed. Inside of this carton is a single sheet of paper covering assembly of the various items in the set. The decals, photo etch, and plastic sprues are all in a single plastic bag, which as you know may result in damage. The contents are provided on 10 sprues of which there are 5 different ones that are duplicated. What you get in this release is:
108 Gallon Paper Drop Tank x 2
200 Gallon Drop Tank x 2
150 Gallon Drop Tank x 2
75 Gallon Drop Tank x 2
1,000Lb AN-M65 Bomb x 2
Smoke Grenade x 2
1,000Lb AN-M59 Bomb x 2
500Lb AN-M58A1 Bomb x 2
250Lb AN-M57 Bomb x 2
4.5 Inch Rocket Launcher tube x “
Provided on the decal sheet are data stencils for the various ordnance items, with the bombs themselves being provided with the option of plastic tail fin assemblies or photo etch tail fin assemblies - the choice is yours.
Conclusion
I am not sure what to think about this release, but I suppose that ordnance sets tend to prove popular judging by the current price of Hasegawa sets. You have a reasonable mix of WWII period fuel tanks and bombs that were also used after the war up to Vietnam I believe, and so if you are an avid aircraft modeller this could be exactly what you are looking for.
