Arma Hobby has presented images of the first test sprues of their new tool 1:72 scale Nakajima Ki-43 II Hayabusa

Today we have some very good news. All three moulds for the new 1/72 scale Ki-43 Hayabusa model kit - two for grey sprues, and one for transparencies - are almost ready. The tooling workshop is already at the final stage - injection moulding tests. Our internal testing of the store system has also been successfully completed. The start of the promotional pre-order is really close!

This is the home stretch. The moulds have all the parts of the kit already made and our work on the Ki-43 Hayabusa model kit is actually complete. We are so happy about this that we decided to let you into our backstage a little and show you pictures of the test sprues!

The tests are going very well. It is natural that the appearance of the test sprues, injected at low pressure, differs from the final one. You can see quite a lot of short shots in the pictures, where parts of the model are really thin. These are the trailing edges of the wings and empennage, the fine levers, the pushrods. It's proof that we designed them to be properly fine, so that the model has great detail. Now the engineers in the tooling workshop just need to fine-tune the runners and the hot, liquid plastic injection process itself so that even the finest parts of the kit cast into the metal mould as needed - without short shots or flash. From the results of these tests, we can see that this is about to happen!

That is why we are about to start the pre-order of the kit, combined with very cool promotions!

Release planned for the end of November 2024
