Hot on the heels of Eduard's excellent 1:48 FM-2 Wildcat comes a new set of Euro Decals from Fantasy Printshop. Rowan takes a look.

Eduard's "Wilder Cat" (reviewed here: https://aeroscale.net/news/fm-2-wilder-cat) is great kit with plenty of colour scheme options, but there's always room for more, so Ray Horwell's latest set of Euro Decals is very welcome - especially as it includes a couple of real surprises for anyone looking to build a Wildcat that will stand out from the crowd.

Set #ED-48138 contains markings for 9 aircraft - 6 x FM-2s and 3 x Wildcat Mk.VIs. The decals are accompanied by full-colour 4-view drawings and include colour matches for original paint names/codes and Humbrol, Xtracolour, Xtracrylix, Mr. Color Aqueous, MRP and Vallejo Model Air model paints.

As you'd expect from Fantasy Printshop, the quality of the decals is superb, with pin-sharp registration on the glossy items, and minimal excess carrier film. To further ensure perfect line-up, the dull red centres for Royal Navy are supplied separately.

The standard schemes include a nice variety, with 3-colour, Atlantic and Sea Blue for the USN, and 3-colour and Sea Blue for the RN. Add to that a couple of "odd-balls" - overall silver and yellow - and there's really something for all tastes:
