Captured Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib – Luftwaffe Insignia Paint Mask Set 1/24
Suggested kit: Airfix Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib #A19003 & #A19003A
Re-usable die-cut mask set
The set includes two sheets of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib is one of the new line of Airfix kits produced in large scale and manufactured according to the contemporary modeling standards. There are couple of versions of the Airfix Typhoon on the market and this set covers two of them – #A19003 and #A19003A. They differ by the Luftwaffe insignia set which is featured only in kit #A19003A. This mask set here covers only the Luftwaffe Captured option and is designed to substitute the decals in #A19003A and/or as an add-on to #A19003. Due to the large size of the insignia in 1/24, masks are far better in terms of realism in the final product compared to the regular use of decals.
Typhoon Masks
Sets are available from DN Models and they feature set for the Canopy and the Wheels which covers both #A19003 and #A19003A. There is another set dedicated to the RAF variants /included in the kits mentioned/ which features the insignia and the numbers. That set comes with four /4/ options of the Hawker Typhoon and in general can be used to cover other variants as well. Since the roundels and most of the markings in RAF was standard in size and shape, this set might cover another versions of the Typhoon in that scale. That option depends on the proper research and information specific for the individual projects replicated by the modelers.
