Eduard's extensive line-up of state-of-the-art 1:48 Bf 109G's feature highly detailed cockpits - and the ProfiPACK versions come complete with etched seat harnesses. But, of course, not everyone likes etched belts as they can be awkward to drape realistically.
So, Roy Sutherland has offered an alternative with a beautifully cast seat with integral straps. Unlike the version produced for Tamiya's 'G-6 (see the review here: https://aeroscale.net/news/bf-109g-6-seat-with-harness-for-tamiya-kit), this set designed for Eduard's kits includes a complete cockpit floor and can be fitted without the need for any surgery once you've removed the casting block.
The detail on the harnesses is superb - with crisply defined buckles and delicate wrinkles in the straps for a very lifelike appearance. There's sufficient relief to make painting easier, and everything should really "pop out" with a light wash and subtle highlighting.
Roy has included a small but comprehensive sheet of instructions, with a step-by-step guide and colour photos.
Conclusion
This new seat and harness should look excellent if painted carefully, and the way it's designed as a drop-in replacement for the standard kit parts will make it an ideal upgrade for newcomers to working with sets like this.
