New from Eduard comes a set of painting masks for Tamiya's venerable 1:48 Beaufighter.

It's hard to believe it's 25 years since Tamiya's kit first appeared, but it still builds into a very attractive model. Back in those days, painting mask sets were a rarity, so it's very welcome to see Eduard produce some for this popular kit.

The set comprises over 50 die-cut items and, being a TFace pack, includes masks for both the inside and outside of the canopies. Also provided are masks for wheels and landing lamps cover. Washi tape will be ideal to cope with come of the compound curves, particularly on the domed rear canopy, and the material is durable enough to stand being re-used if you're careful.

Backing up the masks is a small sheet of instructions, with clear diagrams for each area. To cope with some of the shapes you'll need to use liquid mask (not provided).

Conclusion

This is another neat masking set from Eduard. It will certainly be a worthwhile time-save, because the shapes of the glazing panels on the Beaufighter are more complex than they appear at first glance.

Item #EX 874 is available now from Eduard - Price: $14.95
