New from Euro Decals comes a set of decals for 1:72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIB kits. Rowan takes a look.

Ray Horwell at Fantasy Printshop has released a great set of Hurricane Mk.IIB decals with markings for 8 aircraft, just the ticket to accompany the superb new-tool Army Hobby kits.

As you'd expect with Ray's work, the decals are beautifully printed, with precise registration and virtually no excess carrier film except where it's used to support or group elements. The decals are thin and glossy, and previous experience with Fantasy Printshop sets has shown they should respond beautifully to standard decal solutions.

The decals are accompanied by clear full-colour A4 4-view drawings. The instructions show original paint names, along with matches for Humbrol, Xtracolour, Xtracrylix, Mr. Color Aqueous, MRP and Vallejo Model Air model paints where possible.

There's certainly something to suit every taste in the featured Hurricanes, with European and tropical colour schemes, plus night-fighters and a PRU aircraft.

Conclusion

This is a great set for anyone building a 1:72 Hurricane Mk.IIB and is excellent value for money. Obviously, it's ideal for the Arma Hobby kit (but it'll get pretty expensive if you build 8 of them), and I can see also the sheet forming the basis for a really enjoyable group build at a modelling club.
