North American Super Sabre Collection Part 1

Among the latest releases from Euro Decals is an impressive set of markings for the F-100D in 1:32.

Super Sabre Collection Part 1 arrives on two sheets and, as you'd expect with anything produced by Ray Horwell at Fantasy Printshop, the quality is superb. Registration is pin-sharp in the sample set and excess carrier film is kept to a minimum (basically non-existent except where it's used to group multiple elements into a single decal).

The first sheet contains individual aircraft markings, while the second supplies national insignia and some stencils.

Markings are provided for a quartet of very attractive Thuds - all n/m finished, so there's masses of scope to go to town reproducing the variety of tones on the panelling and the distinctive heat-colouring on the rear fuselage.

The yellow fin for scheme #1 is included as a complete decal for each side with arrows and unit batch printed integrally. It's a shame there wasn't space on the sheets to include the items separately (similarly the markings on the nose band), because I can imagine many modellers would prefer to paint the yellow background. As it is, applying each decal across the fin and rudder will require care and, I suspect, some help from decal solution to adapt to the contours.

Conclusion

This is another top quality and spectacular set from Euro Decals, and the finished models will be guaranteed attention grabbers in any line-up of classic Century Series fighters.
