DH.89 Dragon Rapide Returns

The Return of a Legend - de Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide in 1:32, 1:48 and possibly in 1:72 scales

Some aircraft become machines. Others become legends.

After five years, we are returning to one of the most iconic British aircraft of the golden age of aviation - the de Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide. First flown in 1934, the Rapide was a remarkable twin-engined biplane, admired for its elegant lines, durability and versatility. It quickly became one of the most successful British short-haul passenger aircraft of the 1930s, serving airlines, private operators and, during the war, military units under the name Dominie. With 727 aircraft built, its silhouette became an enduring symbol of an extraordinary era in aviation history.

And now… we bring it back.

Five years after its first appearance, the de Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide returns in an entirely new incarnation. Not a simple reissue. Not a refresh. A model designed again from the ground up, with every curve, panel, surface and rivet carefully reconsidered.

Our goal was simple, yet uncompromising: to capture the soul of the Dragon Rapide in miniature - the delicate elegance of its wooden structure, the character of its engines, the unmistakable proportions and every tiny detail that makes this aircraft so extraordinary.

We’re also preparing a full lineup of box art variations:

  • British military schemes
  • Foreign military schemes
  • Civilian liveries (classic)
  • Civilian liveries (special editions / alternate markings)

This time, the legend will take flight in 1:32 and 1:48 scale. And, exceptionally, we are also considering 1:72 scale.

The Dragon Rapide deserves to return - and this time, it returns as it should have always been.
