From October 2024 to July 2025, the T-Bolts of the 389th Expeditionary Fighter Generation Squadron and Expeditionary Fighter Squadron flew combat missions from an undisclosed location in the Middle East. Supporting Operations INHERENT RESOLVE, ROUGH RIDER, and six other named operations, the T-Bolts generated and flew 2019 sorties totaling 8,389 hours on what became the longest combat aviation deployment in CENTCOM history. The team expended 508 munitions, eliminating 285 ISIS and Houthi enemy combatants, shooting down 109 enemy drones, and destroying untold enemy bunkers and munitions storage facilities. This included an 8-ship strike package, each jet loaded with three JASSMs, a first for any fighter. Additionally, the T-Bolts were called to support ground alert and airborne overwatch for the President of the United States. The T-Bolts also continued the “First of the Gunfighters” tradition by being the first F-15E combat unit to employ AGR-20s, including the first F-15 rocket engagement of a one-way attack drone. During the “12 Day War,” the T-Bolts flew 133 sorties, performed 54 dual-engine running integrated combat turns, and shot down 89+2 drones.
