Ranked at skill level 4, the 1:48 scale Westland Lynx AH-7 is back within the Airfix range but this time with a fresh set of new schemes, including a prominent UN version as depicted on the box front. First released in 2012 as a new mould, this second release has a wide array of schemes to choose from, since the first release was Afghan focused, we’ve now also included a Northern Ireland and NATO scheme. Featuring superb cockpit and interior detail, this kit also features poseable doors and a folded rotor option. Once built, the kit measures 316mm in length and 265mm in width, featuring 233 parts in total.
A groundbreaking helicopter design, the Westland Lynx was developed as the potential replacement for several rotary types in British service during the 1970s and produced in collaboration with French manufacturer Sud Aviation.
From the prototype's maiden flight, it was clear this was a very special aircraft. It set many helicopter speed records and became famous for its incredible agility.
With variants produced for the British Army and the Royal Navy, the Lynx was used in many roles and remained in service for 40 years.
