A read review

The back cover of this book boasts 'A highly illustrated history of the F-111 and EF-111A', and it is. A quick read of this iconic aircraft that is well supported with images of the aircraft in various stages of development, deployment, and disposal. About the only criticism is that there are only single images of  aircraft; from a modelling prospective, several images of the same aircraft, either through its service life, or from different angles at close to the same time, is helpful.

The author dedicates the book to Major Troy CAMPBELL (USAF ret), see below, who is a veteran flyer of the F-111 in combat tours across the globe.

I have stood at the tail end of an F-111 with the after-burner going, at a safe distance, and it is a huge aircraft, which is well served by this title.

The images are small, but there are a few close-ups, and the various marks of the F-111 are all covered. I particularly liked the potential RAF F-111, but was dropped in favour of the F-4, a great aircraft in its own right. There really is not a lot more to say about this, about all that is needed is a good large scale kit! This book will make a great addition to your reference library on the F-111.

Recommended.
