F4F seatbelts STEEL

Eduard have released the etched seatbelts from new 1:48 Profi-PACK Wildcat in a standalone set.

There are already Wildcat Oversprues for purchase direct from Eduard and you can be sure that Weekend Editions can't be far off, so it makes sense to have a set of seat harnesses available to bring the "office" to life.

The set contains 10 parts and promises to be straightforward to fit, so less experienced modellers should have no trouble. The belts are pre-coloured and ready to use - all you need to do is clean off any small burrs with a fine file and you're ready to go. Careful dry-brushing or weathering with pastels can give a used look, but straight off the fret they look very convincing. The slightly speckled appearance in the close-up photo isn't visible to the naked eye and details like the stitching are far finer than most of us could dream of painting by hand.

Eduard provide a neat set of instructions showing both the early set-up with lap belts only, and the later installation of a shoulder harness.

Conclusion

A cockpit looks very empty to me without any seatbelts and Eduard's pre-coloured etched ones are a quick and effective way of adding some. So long as you're careful you can bend them to drape quite convincingly.

Item #FE1290 is available now from Eduard - Price: £3.45
