Introduction
After the battle of Midway the Japanese needed an aircraft to protect the homeland from high altitude bombers. The J2M was a local ground based interceptor, designed for speed, climb rate, and armament while being sluggish in maneuverability.

Allied bombing eventually took its toll, and production was limited. There is only one surviving J2M3 currently.
The Kit
Zoukei Mura is known for highly engineered subjects with beautiful crisp molding. This is no exception. They also offer several upgrades from turned metal barrels, metal landing gear, PE flaps, and even a pilot figure. There is also a concept notes book that is a walk around for the aircraft. That being said, this build is straight OOB.

The instructions are fantastic. Color pictures of the finished assemblies along with CAD. Top notch.

Beautiful build, great job! Apart from the white markings at the back end, it might be worth masking and painting the main markings to avoid the thick decal issue you encountered. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Joe, and so much detail on your build progress. Cheers, D
