Rowan, I can only echo the sentiments of the others, and the exhaust decal is something else.
Meanwhile my own Wurger build sits accusingly on the workbench demanding some attention.

With my record for non-finishing (everyone's right to be on my back - and I always do appreciate the well-meant nudges, Joel ), I'm not declaring this build safely in the bag yet.

Rowan,
That's what I'm here for. If I was wealthy, I'd fly over and nudge you 1st hand.

Hi Christos

Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate them from a skilled modeller like yourself.

I was struck by your mention of "balance" in a build. It's not a term of reference that I've come across before, but I realise it actually sums up perfectly what I appreciate most in other people's work that I admire. I've got to say I was helped enormously by the way Eduard's new kit is such an enjoyable build, but I'm obviously delighted that you've found an element of it in my '190!

Just as a quick update: I weathered the undercarriage with oils at teatime and it's sitting in my homemade paint dryer overnight (a heated seed propagator). I've got the day off work at Oxfam tomorrow, so I hope to make good progress on the last bits and pieces...

All the best

Hi Terri

Many thanks - it's been really fun to build.

I aimed to get it finished this weekend and it's just about there:

There's obviously still the aerial to add - and I want to come back to it after a day or two with fresh eyes to check for mistakes or things I've missed - it's certainly at a stage where I can write a Full-Build review for a change.

All the best

Great paintwork Rowan, you hit the mark there, and the eagle is just as good.

The kit does look easier to build than their earlier effort. In fact I plan to start building an A-6 Sturmbock just to tell how hard Eduard first 190’s are to build.

Cheers

Looks fantastic Rowan.

We can expect to see a lot of good looking butcher birds on competition tables this coming year.

Hi everyone

Thank you all for your generous comments!

@ Matt - Yes, it's clear from the sprues that Eduard are planning to replace their entire radial-engined '190 line-up. We can expect some amazing builds on show as far better modellers than me get to grips with the kit.

All the best

Beautiful work Rowan, you make it look so easy.

I have a pile of the “older” release Eduard 190’s including the D9,11 & 13 they did and have just taken delivery of the new Royal Class A-4 boxing and an A-2 overtrees curtesy of my bunny club discount. I’ll not be opening the parcel until the 25th though, as a present to myself.

Now need to find the time to build them

Rowan, simply beautiful work. I think you paint job is very well executed and looks spot on.

I just got this kit and I plan to build it sometime during 2018. I am building Hasegawa"s 1/32 Fw190 A-5 right now and well probably get to the Eduard kit two or three builds from now. Though, your build makes me want to move the Eduard kit up in my build schedule!

Hi again

Thank you Ernest and Luciano!

@ Luciano - I didn't make Eduard's new Fw 190 look easy... Eduard did - they've redesigned everything to make this much more straightforward than their original kit.

It's been a thoroughly enjoyable build that I can recommend to anyone with a little experience of etched parts - and, when the Weekend versions come out, I'll extend that across the board.

All the best

Rowan
