The plastic is the EE kit, which is a knock-off of the old Otaki kit of blessed memory. This is not so much of a bad thing given that the Otaki kit is still the best, most accurate Tristar kit.

When combined with Ray's decals, this is the best deal available for a 1/144 Tristar. Get them while they're in stock; they sell out quickly

26 decals are certainly the best I've ever used.

I would build a Tristar if I could manage the last one still flying, the Orbital Stargazer

A decal sheet may still be available. Finding the resin rocket and mount conversion may be more difficult, but you never know what turns up on Evil-bay.

I actually have that decal. The Pegasus missile and launch rail will be the tricky part.

That and fitting another large model into the building schedule and storage space.

26's price for the kits looks pretty darned good after looking at EE kits online (a bit higher, and with 'so-so' EE decals) and vintage Otaki kits on auction sites (crazy "collector" prices).

A large knitting needle and a bit of sheet plastic will soon sort that out
