Great job on the Roland, Stu!

I finished the Fokker E.II!
This was my first time using Gaspatch turnbuckles (in fact, any kind of turnbuckle at all). I learned a lot, and could definitely do better next time. As this is the most rigging I've ever done, I'm happy for the moment.

Weathering was done with artist's oils. Hopefully I did not overdo it!

Overall, this was a great kit. The fit of the wings and the complex landing gear/strut arrangements was made almost-error proof. It's really, really clever.

The cockpit was enhanced with HGW fabric belts, which I will now use on every possible 1/32 build because they worked fantastic for me.

I can't recommend the kit enough! It made a potentially tough build very enjoyable!

Thanks for looking!
(photos are uploaded to the campaign folder).

Great build Tom!
I built this E.3 for Canvas Falcons I and it remains my only WW1 build despite it being such a great kit. As you say, a joy to put together.

cheers

Really nice work here!

Unfortunately, with only a few days left, my WNW Camel has stalled out and is in a bad spin. After carefully masking the framework on the lower wings, painting PC12 to simulate show through, then removing the masking and painting the linen color (breaking off not one but two cabines in the process), I removed all the other masking to find that the paint on the bottom of the wings is just wiping off the model like powder. No idea what I did wrong. I used Tamiya paints which I normally have good luck with, but it all went south this time. This one is sidelined for now while I try to get my mojo back.

Anyway, if you're close to finishing, time to step it up! Only a week left.

Well everyone, only one day till Armistice Day and the end of Canvas Falcons III. But fear not, Canvas Falcons IV is right on its tail! If you have a finished model for this one, be sure to post in the gallery, otherwise we'll see you on the flipside.

Well, Armistice Day has come and gone and it's time to close this one down. However, as promised, Canvas Falcons IV is up and running, so if you have something under way but not finished (such as, say, a WNW Camel ), you can still get 'er done!

Thanks to all who participated and congrats to those who finished! I will be distributing awards right after I finish this post, so let me know if you don't get one and think you should. See you in 1917-18!

Stu,

You have to go directly to the specific gallery for the campaign. (click on the link here). Then, as long as you're logged in, you should be able to upload. You might have to login at the gallery page, even if you were for the network in general. Look in the upper right hand corner of the gallery page to see if you are logged in or not.

I don't (because I can't) build WWI birds, but these are some incredible looking builds!

Bravo.

Stu,

I don't know what's going on, but it's beautiful work so I'm giving you the ribbon. On to part IV!
