An update.

Once the gloss began to fly I decided to keep it going.

Same process as with the Kingfisher. Do need to say that the decals are nasty. They shattered and tore very easily. Took a bit to get them on.

Weathering will be next.

All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged.

This update will start off with a bit of dry brushing to tone down the decals a bit. Once done I moved on to a bit of staining. I wanted to give it a bit of life but not to overdo the effect. My focus was on the nose with just a bit of staining on the wing and main body of the fuselage.

Just a few close ups of the nose.

With this to this point now I can move on to adding some of the little detail parts not yet attached.

All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged.

Joe,
Love the oxidation! I feel like I could rub my hand over it and end up with some paint particles on my hand.

Getting so very close.

Landing gear and wheels are on. Little things are ready.

Next up will be the final push. She is so very very close to the finish line.

When I look at the Skyraider I see a big, brutal, purely functional piece of hardware, much like the A-10. Nothing elegant or streamlined about the design of the airframe, but that gives them their own character and attractiveness.

You are doing a great job on this one, the weathered paintwork looks like it has been hit by the harsh jungle conditions for sure.

Looking forward to seeing all of the hardpoints filled up!

Cheers, D

The Skyraider is finished.

All in all not a bad kit. The decals were rough to be honest but they are on.

Pictures.
