That cockpit looks awesome!

thanks, I got a lot done on it this last weekend and even started painting but now have a family reunion this next week so grandkids will be using my time up for that week, be back after that folks.

more work on the SW-4, I have to say that although this is not a real common helo at least to me, Aero Plast have done an outstanding job of engineering, it fits so perfectly and is so well molded. It is hard to see the mold lines on the parts, just a joy to build.

Hi everybody, I just looked over my shelf and found this H-19 from Italeri. So I am happy to be in with this kit in 1/72.


By the way, I want to build this kit with the ordinary landing gear. Does anybody know, if this kit contains all necessary parts? Or has anybody good photos of the landing gear?

Yippee, a few aftermarket pieces have arived in the postoffice.

And the CH-53 is ready for airbrushing the interior.

Hey Bob
I use Tamiya paint in an old Pashe single action airbrush, with Johnson Floor polish as a clear gloss coat, the only enamels I use will be on the final dull coat and that will be Testors dull coat. I will do an oil paint wash with Windsor Newton burnt umber and black mixed thined with a trupintine substitute called Turpinoid, it is very mild and wont hurt the paint.

Doug, do you spray the floor wax straight or dilute?

Hobby Boss 1/72 Kamov Ka-29 Helix-B

Hi everyone,

First of all, Doug, that A-Star looks great, and so fast, very good work.

I got a start on my entry, the HobbyBoss Ka-29, awesome, funny looking helicopter. I have the the PE kit from Part out of Poland which is meant for the Italeri kit but I'm sure it will make due with a little creativity. I personally have a serious problem with AMS so I have set clear rules for myself, I am not allowed to completely remove molded detail and only add representative shapes and details to improve overall detail. Im going to open up some doors on the helo because they are very strange and will look funny opened up.

The kit had a lot of ejector pin marks, if I hadn't opened the doors I would not have had to deal with them. Overall this kit's fit and engineering is excellent, I believe I could build it clean OOB in only a few hours. The parts fit together in a way that hides seam lines and ejector pin marks, very clever.

Next up will be cockpit which will require considerable changes because of the PE mash up.

Bryan welcome aboard and great start on the Helix, I have built that kit and it goes together very nice. Detail looks great so far.

Bryan, that is an interesting chopper and your progress has been giving me ideas.
