Here it is:

My Hangar queen entry.

In fact I could choose from 5 queens in various stages of development but this one requires the most work which seems appropriate for a campaign.

I started this Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk. IA a few months ago, it's part of the 'Dogfight Doubles' boxing with the Bf110. The 110 hasn't been started yet, so not part of this build.

Update to my once entry into the Club Med campaign.

Cockpits are done

A Builders eye view of the table before I cram the finished cockpits into the fuselages. Note that in my haste to document this event I matched the cockpits to the wrong fuselages.

All sealed up sitting on my bi-plane rig while glue/ca/putty dry. I thought this would be a good point as a intro pic to Hanger Queen VI - well maybe not.

For any who are interested here is the Kitmaker link to previous pic postings.

Cheers for now

Greetings,

Some interesting progress on some of the subjects here so far.

The WIP as to date on my A1h Skyraider, a couple of the weapons have yet to be added to their hard points, but it is getting closer to the finish line.

Starting from here now that the AeroMaster 'too little too late' decals arrived from Squadron. They are for 190D's but as a bunch of stencils and markings will do just fine.
The cammo is invented but it was fun punching all the little circles from tape.

Maybe some progress this weekend, if not Feb vacation is coming up soon.

Thank you for the compliment. Its been sitting, built up and almost finished for 10+yrs now. Moved 3-4 times too.
I finally settled on the wheels up posing. Wheels down looks ungainly and awkward, wheels up looks sinister and purposeful.

Tempted to find another to do in a ficticious nightfighter scheme, with that mess of antenae on the nose...

Here it is with some generic stencils on the topside. But then again, the RoG ones were not any better.

Needs another gloss coat to seal the decals and then some fading to a semi-gloss finish. Have not decided if I will spray the yellow/red ID band near the 'tail'

The scheme is of course completely made up and the colors are a little stark, but it is a fun looking plane.

The underside is pale blue/grey.

needs markings/stencils and another gloss coat to seal. Then washes and fading.

Here is my entry if it’s OK. Like Pete Doc, mine is a refuge from the “Land of the Rising Sun” campaign. It’s a Hasegawa 1:48, Nakajima Ki-44 Shoki. Here is a link to the build. http://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/forums/226457#1908310
The last picture shows the model as painted, since them I have been scratching the paint off. I am just about through with the “hair spray” process and will post some pictures in the near future.

Getting close now. Sorry about the photo quality - heading out to work - the coffee was boiling and the bacon was burning so it was a bit rushed!

The blues are Model Master enamels; Intermediate Blue, Gloss Sea Blue, and Non-Specular Sea Blue along the leading edges. The white is Tamiya, my go to paint for doing white. I followed the Monogram Official USN/USMC Color Guide for the mid-war scheme. I had faded the blue a bit in places to get some tonal differences but they seem to have washed out under the gloss coat.

Pete Doc, your KI-84 looks good! I might try salt as a weathering method some time. Hairspray works well but it is tedious and it is hard to get a random effect with it.

Latest update. Putting more pieces parts together. The spitfire sits drying and I am about to work on the RE-2000. With great inspiration from one of Gary's (MakingModelsAgain) reviews ( https://archive.kitmaker.net/forums/230943 ) I have included a pic of my update with a view of some seasonal brew served in my lovely Eduard Spitfire IX glass. Best IPA I have had to date

Cheers

The last time I posted about my Ki-44 (27-11-14) I had finished painting it. I have since then been scraping the paint off! This is the first time I have used hairspray as a weathering technique, and I am fairly pleased with the results. However picking the paint off with a toothpick is tedious and time consuming. I can see where using salt would be easier and faster. I am about ready to spray gloss coat on this thing and start putting on some decals.

Ok, I'll play. Here is my Hasegawa 1/48 Aichi Val. I started and shelved it late 1999.

This is as far as I got. When I dragged it down today and started to mess with it, I remember why I shelved it. Not a fan of CMK products and this was one of the last I've ever bought.....nuff said

I think I can get motivated to finish this into something respectable

Late war German fighters getting some more decal time, Hobby Boss FW 190 D-9 airfield defender, Revel's ancient Ta 152 H ( with completely ficticious Aero Master decals... shhh, I wont tell if you dont..), and the Ho 229 with underside markings and generic stencils from the Aero Master's "Too Little, Too Late" sheet #204 as well.

All three need gloss coating, some washes and fading, but the finish line is closing in.
