The way I figure it, you can over drink, over work, over sex, or over campaign. I'm choosing to do the latter, as the first three have already taken their toll.
I'm just looking for a fun, oob build to break me out of the nuts-n-bolts cage I'm feeling. When this is done, I'll give it to the children.

I'm enlisted

I would like to enter these guys to the campaign.

They have been base coated silver and two of them have spare paint from other projects aded to the base. Otherwise unstarted and ready for paint brush for the rest.

Could the campaign leader please confirm if these are allowed as an entry?

Having a lot of problems with the Yak so far as it has far too much excess plastic on almost every piece. Not only that but there was a blob of it that shouldn't have been on the cockpit opening at all for one of the fuselage halves. In the process of trimming it away I cut myself twice and may have trimmed too much off. We'll see how this goes.. I've stepped away from it a few times to work on a different kit however.

I got a 1/48 scale Revell P-40B for Christmas and decided to build it up in between sparring with the Yak. It's ended up as a hypothetical Royal Bulgarian Air Force fighter with even more hypothetical camo.

When I got back to the Yak, I had the P-40 in the background.. I guess kind of to spite the Yak somehow. Half of the fuselage has the control panel and the radio box are in. The cockpit however doesn't appear that it will fit as shown in the instructions even after trimming.

^And a shot of the finished P-40 for good measure.

Yak's on the shelf for now after further trouble with wheels that have no way to connect to the landing gears. Instead I've got an old Frog 1/72 Fokker D-XXI I'd like to officially enter for this campaign.

^The kit was part of a three pack of 'Famous Fighters of World War 2' for which I've misplaced the instructions. That said it's a really straightforward kit so this should be reasonable. I've started pre-assembly painting for Royal Netherlands Air Force colors, as this is going to be part of a trio of 1/72 Dutch fighters I'm building.

Some progress has been made on the Fokker D-XXI. I love the fact that all the pieces fit together really nicely on this one! The kit's from before my time but I can certainly appreciate the craftsmanship that went into it. That said Dutch camouflage is a pain to stencil out and paint but I've done my best.

^After applying the green camo and two of three national colors to the rudder.

^All three camo colors applied, pretty much everything painted up.

^Now the rudder is fully painted and final assembly can proceed.

Thanks, Richard! Here are the pictures of the completed Fokker D-XXI:

The kit only came with two MGs, but there was a spare extra long piece I trimmed down to create the others. Looking for some aircraft numbers to add to it but this is finished enough to submit for the campaign gallery I think.

This week I decided to bear down and attack the Yak again. After some emergency gap-filling and touch up, it's looking much better. Some progress pictures:

Feeling confident with it again I added some markings to it patchworked from several different sources. This Yak-9 is a fighter of the Imperial Russian Air Force.

Greetings! Time to get this show on the road:

I'll admit it, I bought this kit for the current Mustang campaign, then I got it home and saw how crude the mouldings are, and decided it would be perfect for this campaign. I will be stripping the oversized rivets, then rescribing as needed, using the nicer (airfix) kit as a guide. Effectively, I will be building both Mustangs side by side, and as I am using AM decals on the other kit, I will be putting the airfix Tuskegee markings on this Revell Mustang.

Cheers Everybody!

My wife asked me to build, yes she asked me to buy and build a model, a bi-plane and wanted it yellow. So I found a cheap Revell Sopwith in 1:28. I just started working on it a few days ago and deicded to enlist in this campaign and stick to the brush.

Anyone with experience with this kit knows it leaves much to be deisred. Plenty of flash, so much so that I sing the Flash Gordon song while cleaning it up....."Flash aaa ahhh, he saved everyone of us". And ejector pin marks, with flash no less. The tail even has a stamp with "1981" on it so its an older kit and the mold is probably well worn and explains the flash.

All that being said I will get some pictures to post later.
