Some very good work going on here!

I have a sorry confession to make. As it becomes clear that I have to get going on SOMETHING for this campaign I'm unable to get around the fact that what I really want to build is the WNW Fokker D.VIIF. I know this is in no way an early war aircraft, but the rules do say that it doesn't have to be. 'Course, I wrote the rules. Still, it feels a little icky. Would you all shame me if I went for it?

Well, I've taken the plunge and started on the D.VII F. I'll be doing Udet's plane. Here's the start photo:



All I've done so far is glue the wings together and gloss coat them since I had the gloss out for another kit.

I guess its time I get something going for this campaign before I'm dnf. I had ambitious plans to tackle a special hobby sopwith tabloid but in the interest of giving myself a chance I'm going to have a go at one of my hangar queens an eduard 1/48 nieuport 17 in the markings of Fulco Ruffo di Calabria. Thus far I've preshaded the interior assembled and sanded the cowl and folded up and primed the interesting looking perforated french seat.
To restart this build I'll begin with painting the wood and linen interior a base coat of some cdl concoction

Well, 11/11 is nearly upon us and this campaign is winding down. If you've finished your WWI kit, be sure to post pics in the gallery. If you didn't get done, fear not! Canvas Falcons II is coming very soon!

Would like to also sneak in with my finished dual 1917-1918 aircraft:

Fokker D.VII OAW and SE.5a "Hisso"

Will pick more age appropriate aircraft for Canvas Falcons II

And so on Armistice/Remembrance/Veterans' Day we salute those who served in uniform and say farewell to Canvas Falcons I. Ribbons have been awarded, so if you didn't get one and feel you should have, let me know.
