Thank you for the kind comments, and yes it is 1/72 scale. I just suffer from a sever case of AMS, and if I can see it and imagine it, I just have to do it .

Nice detail indeed Gary, even more considering the scale.

Now I'm consuming all my modeling time over the Hayabusa, even so advance is rather slow.

I'm using Aeromaster old acrylics for the interior main color (Nakajima int Green). Since this is a light/bright green I've decided to use a new approach (to me!) at weathering.
No pre or post shadow, used Alclad Chrome as a base (after the black primer of course) then decided to try out AK's chipping effect, which is an acrylic medium to achieve some chipping of the main color.
To be honest I am not happy with the results. Salt would achieved better results IMO, rendering the chipping more realistic...but then it could have been my fault or Aeromaster paint adhesion is stronger than I anticipate.

After that, and to avoid the usual dark grey/brown wash homemade brew, i decided to use for the first time Flory Models Grime wash supplemented by a bit of Vallejo Dark brown wash. Both combined ok and overall look is quite different from any I've made before.

I hope the end result won't be exaggerated, but I wanna portray a war weary machine which is how I imagine a Jap plane would be after several months of intense action in Borneo's rudimentary airfields

I took some pictures of the unboxing, then put it into some soapy water... and only then realized that there was no SD card in the camera! So, here's a picture of George taking a bubble bath instead:

Anyone know if those belts are meant to be pre-painted - they have a colour but I'm not sure if this is meant to be the final look.
Not much inside the cockpit -

They looked weathered to me, so I guess they are pre-painted. I would stick 'em on the seat and see how they look.

Ooops! I thought I have posted already some photos of my progress, but actually I haven't ....
Anyway, here are the first shots of my Ki-46 interceptor fighter ....

To me it looks like the results of the etching chemicals that give it that odd red color. I believe that Japanese seatbelts were not that color,but they usually were a pale yellow. But there were on many of them bits of leather that were more of a brown. But as stated, I don't think they are pre-painted.

The belts look the right colour according to RB but the buckles need painted steel.

Some progress.

Some further progress from my Hyakushiki Shi tei. The masks are selfmade from Kip Tape with a toothpick and a scalpel with a new blade cut directly on the canopy. The frame is thick enough to do that ....

.... okay, ready for some paint action ....
