I have a Cessna that needs building.

Am very interested in this one. Tossing up over two Italeri kits. The Sunderland Mk I and the Dornier Do-24T.

The Dornier comes with an interesting addition of RAAF markings in Australia. After the Japanese invasion of the Netherlands East Indies, six surviving Do.24s were transferred to the Royal Australian Air Force in February 1942. They served in the RAAF through most of 1944 as transports in New Guinea, making the Do.24 one of the few aircraft serving operationally on both sides during World War II (thanks wikipedia).

I love the Sunderland but thinks the Do 24T in Aussie markings would be interesting.

I think that I will join this bath party. With what I am not too sure. Will have to dig through the pile. I do have a B&V 222 built, Coastal command did use one. A B&V 138 I think is calling me. To comment upon that video there is a vac of the B&V 238. Just too big for me.

Great video Jess, I see CMK make a 1/144 scale model of the Mars. I imagine it's still be a big beast even in smurf scale!

I'm currently spoiled for choice as I have a number of flying boats in the stash, that however makes the choice a little more difficult than you'd think.

The one I want to build is the Bv222 Wiking, that particular kit is not currently in my stash however ..... however that may change ... LOL all good things come to those who wait! As long they who wait worketh like hell while they waiteth!

I am in for this campaign. I don't have a seaplane as yet but a start date of August will give me some time to fix that. Something with a NZ focus will be the aim since we have a lot water and a history of flying boats.

Here's a question for you, regarding the question of what exactly is a seaplane, is this open to those aircraft that used pontoons ie Heinkel He115 Arado Ar196 or any of the various fighter types that they tried pontoons on or is it only those with a planing bottom ie Short Sunderland, Consolidated Catalina, Blohm und Voss Bv138 etc? Not trying to nit pick just trying to create discussion.

Chris here is the overview:- if it flys and has floats or pontoons it's in the campaign.

Operational Overview
To honour those brave pilots who flew from Sea, Rivers and Lakes and land on water at times in questionable conditions.
Rescue,Marine Patrol and passenger travel of the golden age.
Bush pilots who flew from and landed on lakes barley big enough to clear the shore or the trees!
Any Era,Civil or Military,Jet or Prop.
Helicopters will be allowed as long as Pontoons/Floats are attached.

Picked up a Kingfisher High Tech for less than $10 on Ebay, and grabbed the new OS2U cockpit and float sets from Mike West's LSM. I had to spend time checking over the kit carefully, whoever had it previously cut nearly every single piece off of the sprues and tossed them all in the box. They are all there including some silver-molded parts that look like they belong to a 1/35 jet kit.

I assume it meets the campaign requirements since there is no glue or paint work done on it, just a lot of baggies to keep things from getting scratched.

This will be my first attempt at a resin tub, I am hoping to do justice to Mike's excellent work!
