I'll be satisfied with a "kinda looks like a 727" this time. Anyhow, it will be a fun build for the small amount ($5) I spent on it.
As long as you approach it with that attitude you can't go wrong, and you'll even enjoy building it 
I recommend that you leave the tailplanes off until after you've painted the blue and applied the decals.
I found a good site with some modifications that will improve the accuracy of the 727 with a little effort. Testors Scale Workshop 727-200 by Robert Leonard & The Testor Corporation.

I just counted 11 people who want in, so there's definite interest. This one's a go!
Given the number of active campaigns and those already in the pipeline I'm guessing that this one will run early next year so there's plenty of time for anyone interested to find a kit and for us to drum up that interest by talking up small-scale modelling.

I would say this is outstanding results. The original proposal was submitted on Saturday, and by Monday we have enough for a go. It really is Great to see 1/144th with this kind of following. Ok guys and gals, seems like we have enough people to submit the campaign, should it be small is beautiful 2 or something else?
Also I'm not amazed that so many people showed interest, after all models in this scale are easy to assemble and cheap.

Love it ! I didn't think anyone would pick up on that. Actually, I think it is extremely appropriate for our scale. While way too many get super serious about the "Hobby" - we "Wee modelers" continue to build and enjoy the hobby the way it was meant to be.
Regardless of what name is chosen, I'm looking forward to another 1/144 build. Now I'll just have to narrow down the choices !

That's OK, it could always be worse ! Since I'm built extremely close to the ground, my Daughters and Grand-Daughters have called me "Poppa Smurf" for years. (Among other things ! )
Besides, you could always be "Smurfette - Queen of the Smurf Scale" !!!!

Couldn't resist and ordered the Platz P-51D Mustang Liveries Select from Hobbylink Japan to use in this campaign possibly. They are on sale for $8 over there which is by far the best I have seen.

There's already a campaign starting in September, and I think that the admins don't want two campaigns to begin on the same date so they'll likely shift the start date. There's another scheduled to start in October, so we're probably looking at a November or December start date. Campaigns usually last for 6 months regardless of subject matter so just think of it as having more time than you need to finish your kit, and maybe start another...
