In an homage to the humble penny, who is not long for this world (at least in this country). I will draw numbered pennies from a Jar, each penny corresponds to a theme, they will be drawn in order of enlistment.

And now I draw....

Damian, your lot is:

#4: Polish Planes and the Pilots who ply them!/i] This is a hard one Damian, I'm glad it fell to an experienced modeler like you. Mostly short-run kits in the running here.

Jon, your lot is:

[i]#11: "Pushy Pushy"

Lay it down flip it and reverse it because you're making a plane with the prop on the wrong end. I have to say I was hoping to get this one. Good luck!

And now for my own fate... (I am not cheating here folks.)

Richard, your lot is:

lucky #13! "Supersonic Soviet" Well I should have known, there is a preponderance of 13's in my life.

Okay, with trepidation I await what the fates decree. I just hope that I have a whateveritis in my stash already, because financial realities decree that I shall not be buying any new kits for the forseeable future...

Ack! I did not draw a good one for a man who is afraid of bare metal finish...

Now I consult the jar of fate.

Jessie, your lot is...

#8: "Oh de Vichy!" Hope you've got some French kites in the reserve.

Stephen, your lot is...

#12: "Luftwaffe lookers and luggers." Make us an unarmed Luftwaffe aircraft! Will be nice to see something other than an Fw190 for once!

I think I might rename my category as Polish Planes and the Predicament of Pronouncing them !

This is going to be great fun, I can see an annual event in the making here Richard.

Now, off to the local LHS's to see what tongue-twisters I can choose from

Cheers, D

Oh dear, therein lies the predicament. I have nothing suitable in the stash
I don't suppose that it is possible to renegotiate with fate? Or perhaps offer to trade with someone?

Ohhhhh I dunno Jessie. I don't think I can swallow that pill. At least not yet. But we have until November 30th. That's a long time. And maybe someone out there has a nice Dewoitine to trade???

And sadly my budget will not allow anything, not even until November. With regret I must withdraw and return penny #8 to the jar for someone more well supplied with French aircraft.

I'm sad now.

Jessica. You donate a good deal of time to the cause here at aeroscale. Just how immense is your stash? You think you stand a good chance at another roll of the dice?

Richard Tonge, your lot is:

Sweet Sixteen! "Fleet Air Arm flops and failures" How's your stocks of grey paint?

Steven/Shuftie I should qualify that I mean offensive armament. So any bird not carrying, bombs, torpedoes, rockets, missiles, or forward firing guns or cannon.

Defensive guns are a-okay.

I need to go to bed before anyone else enlists!

Ben, your lot is...

#6: "Trial of the Trimotors!" And I am jealous. That was to be my excuse to buy a sparviero.

I could quite easily do any of:
-"Take a Chance (Vought that is...)"
-"Sopwith you??"
-"Just a Mirage..."
-"Stupendous Supermarines sans Spitfires" (as long as you don't mind me finishing something started)
-"Yellow Wings of the USN"
-"Fokker.."
-"Floaters"

Helldiver could be one in my list to do!
"The 'Son of a lady Second Class' (SB2C-1C) Helldiver I was regarded as the ugly duckling of the Fleet Air Arm. Although, some would say that the Fairey Barracuda could claim that title. Needless to say, the Royal Navy was not impressed with 'The Beast' and the aircraft, never saw active combat with the FAA.The last Helldiver, JW115, to serve with the Fleet Air Arm was payed off in December 1945 with 700 squadron at MiddleWallop".

Enlisted!

Since I'm the only one from a "neutral" contry so far, should fate give me that lot? Not that I have a kit for it... Ample time to get one, though...

Cheers!

Okay so first off. The one and only mulligan I'm prepared to give out on this campaign has gone to Jessie. I have randomly drawn for her once more and obviously fate is her friend. It turned up one she can do out of stash.

So Jessica, your lot is...

#5: "Stupendous supermarines sans spitfires."

Next up, Stefan, your lot is...

#15: "I SPAD in your general direction!" Our first early aviation drawing. I hope you're okay with rigging!

On to Lee, your lot is...

#3: "Just a Mirage..." And you are building a Mirage! A veritable cornucopia of Air Forces to choose from here!

And finally the windy Sean, your lot is...

#20: "Neutral Colours!" Build a bird belonging to a First or Second World War Neutral Power! This could be interesting...

Okay, but fair warning. My Supermarine is one I acquired partially built and which has been sitting around in that condition for the past 7 or 8 years. The wings and tailplanes have been glued (and rather sloppily at that). I'll understand completely if you won't be able to accept it in the campaign.
The assembled wings

And it wouldn't be me without a Canadian Civil connection, would it?

Well it doesn't look like much is done. And more importantly, it wasn't done by you. As I see it you have a model is "as bought" condition with verrry minimal work done.

I calls 'em like I see's 'em. I say that model's fair game.
