Cobra Company comes out with a great new update set for the USAF HH-60G Pave Hawk. These sets will allow you to build an up to date HH-60G with external gun mounts as seen in recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

History
The Sikorsky MH/HH-60G Pave Hawk has been the primary CSAR (Combat Search And Rescue) platform for the USAF since the late 1980s. It has been a very capable and successful aircraft and has proven itself in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan many times over. One of the biggest complaints for the Pave Hawk by its crews has been lack of internal space due to a large, centrally-mounted ammo can and associated gear for the internally-mounted guns. In recent years, an external gun mount system was developed for the HH-60G that moves the guns and ammo boxes outside of the fuselage. This removed the internal ammo box which freed up space for the crew and their gear.

Cobra Company Sets
Cobra Company has continued their excellent 1/35 Helicopter accessory and upgrade line with the addition of two versions of the External Gun Mount System for HH-60Gs. These two sets are pretty much identical, with different guns. Set 35031 has two GAU 16, M2 .50 cal heavy machine guns. Set 35032 has two GAU 2, M134 7.62mm miniguns. Each set also includes finely cast resin pieces for the external mount arms, ammo boxes, chaff/flare boxes, modified step-fairings for both sides of the fuselage, and rubber ammo chutes. The right side step-fairing is the correct, larger one needed to attach the refueling probe to as well.

Each set comes packaged in a zip-loc baggie with a nice instruction sheet that clearly shows how to assemble and attach the gun mounts to the Academy 1/35 MH-60G model. The instructions are well written and provide pictures for ease of placement and reference.
SUMMARY
Highs: The castings are crisp and flash-free, nearly perfect.
Lows: The only issue I can see with these is that often HH-60Gs use one of each of the GAU 2 and GAU 16 on opposite sides of the helicopter. To model this set up, you would need two sets (one of each) to get the mix of weapons.
Verdict: Two Great sets that are very welcomed by modern, large-scale helicopter fans. I highly recommend them. Another great product from Cobra Company.

One question: with this set, do you get two mounts (one for each side) or just one. Thanks

Each set contains two complete weapons mounts with weapons. They are complete sets for one aircraft each.
