Aermacchi MB 339 Canopy
Vac formed canopy for the Italeri/Supermodel kit

Background

There have been some very pleasing looking jet trainers around and the subject of this Pavla Models release is no exception. Pavla Models have produced a vac formed canopy for the Italeri/Supermodel 1/72 Aermacchi MB 339.

Contents

The Pavla Models vac formed canopy is contained in a plastic bag, which is very adequate protection as there are no scuff or scratches visible on the surface. The plastic is not thin and feels robust, goods news for when it comes to separating the parts. The clarity of the plastic is very good indeed. The shape of the canopy looks very good and even replicates the slightly blown look of the real thing. The frame work is nicely defined around both the windscreen and the canopy. The windscreen is separated from the canopy with about 5mm of excess plastic, so that the two can be separated with plenty of plastic to spare. If you are displaying the canopy open, do not forget it's hinged to the right.
There are no instructions with this release as this is a direct replacement for the kit parts.

Conclusions

This is a very fine looking replacement canopy for the Italeri/Supermodel kit. The clarity of the plastic will allow you to see all that lovely detail in the office.
SUMMARY
Highs: Very clear plastic, good shape, not too flimsy and a good price.
