Each book in Osprey’s new modeling series is a complete guide to building, detailing, converting, and customizing models. Interest in the Harrier Jet remains strong still, especially with the 20th Anniversary of the Falklands War, and the use of the Harrier in “ Operation Enduring Freedom “.

This book will provide modelers with a very clear and concise guide to all aspects of Harrier modeling, in three different scales. If you’re a Harrier nut, then this book is a must have for you! It contains a total of 80 pages, in a paperback form, which I might add, lays flat nicely on the workbench for ease of reference when building.

There are 181 color photographs contained herein, and as you will find in all of Ospreys model publications, are superb in color and detail. You’ve got to see them for yourself to appreciate the expert photography. Photography topics range from basic tools and construction materials, to detailed step-by-step building instruction, and close-up shots of actual Harrier Jet’s and components for modelers reference. There’s even a full color template in the back of the book listing all Harrier colors for accurate reproduction! The pages are printed on heavyweight quality paper, to withstand much use and abuse.

This book covers building in a variety of scales, from 1/24th scale to 1/72nd scale, which provides the modeler a multitude of challenges for all different levels of modeler experience, from the early P.1127 to the latest models.

Each chapter in this fine publication is filled with valuable information and text concerning the Harrier subject and the process of reproducing an accurate model of such. The author himself has written several books about various aircraft types, as well as many articles for different modeling magazines. Having served in the Royal Navy for several years before becoming a professional photographer, Ashley has been able to combine his experience, his talents, and his love for scale aircraft modeling into a terrific publication. I definitely recommend this book, to all Harrier Heads and the like of such, pick a copy today and check it out!
