MK.82 500 Lbs. General Purpose Bomb

Master Detail's MK.82 500 Lbs. General Purpose Bomb with Mk.82 Conical Low Drag Fin unit isn't a new kit but a re-release. it features what is generally considered the most widely used general-purpose bomb in the Western arsenal of the last fifty years. Two complete bombs can be built with this which include parts for mechanical impact nose fuses, mechanical time fuses, conical nose plugs, target recognition devices, fuse extenders, lugs for both pylon and T.E.R. mounting. It represents the "Slick" low drag fin configuration and comes with a fin-mounting fixture to aid in proper alignment of the tailplanes.

In total there are 30 finely cast resin parts and one fin-mounting fixture. I found no air bubbles in my sample but some careful cleaning of the smaller parts will be necessary because of some flash where the molds meet together. Nothing serious though.

Instructions are provided which include a very precise color guide.

Conclusion

If you are looking for some ordnance to put under your modern 1:32 scale U.S. or NATO aircraft, Master Details has some nice items available again. This Mk.82 500 Lbs. bomb set can be recommended and a "Snake Eye" High Drag GP is in the catalogue as well.
