by: Sam Berry [ CAMOGIRL ]

A decal sheet portraying 7 of the B-17s from the Memphis Belle film and one for the Sally B the sheet included the 8 options in both 1/72 and 1/48 (16 in total) included is:

'Memphis Belle'
'Mother and Country'
‘Windy City’
'Clooney Baby'
'Gee Whiz'
'Baby Ruth'
‘C-Cup’
‘Sally B/ Memphis Belle’

The decals are in good register and look thin enough to settle down and conform to the model without too much hassle.

The instruction sheet shows a side view of each aircraft it only shows one full side and the opposite side only shows the area the nose art was applied to. On the decal sheet you get the eight nose-arts and the tail codes. In both 1/72 and 1/48
The Squadron codes and stars and bars are available separately. Alternatively you could airbrush the codes and stars and bars to the model.
I think it is a great decal sheet for all the fans of the film I admit I had to sit down and watch the film again to see a couple of the planes shown on the decal sheet. These were mainly in shots of taxing, taking off and in the scene background when the crew are driving out to the Belle. It is great that they have been able to do the Sally B decals as well which allows both the Memphis Belle as she appeared in the war to be built and the modern day Sally B with Belle on the other side.
SUMMARY
Highs: Good quality decals in good register good details and reasonably priced. Great for all the film fans.
Lows: I think some would prefer that the squadron codes were included with the nose arts and tail codes rather than having to shell out for further decal sheets to allow the codes to be added to the kit.
Verdict: Overall a good decal sheet although I feel some may feel let down by having to purchase the squadron codes separately.
