Air Compressor 34
CMK's 1:48 scale German WWII Large Air Compressor 34 kit comes in a small but sturdy cardboard box. Inside there is one bag with cream colored resin pieces and one small instruction sheet. The model is composed of only 14 parts:
- one main body
- three wheels
- 10 smaller parts (tank, exhaust, mudguards, trestles, etc...)

The quality of the casting is very good overall. I have found no air bubbles in my sample. What appears to be some, on the side of the main body, are in fact locators for the door handles. These will have to be made from fine wire and are surprisingly not mentionned in the instructions.

Construction should be straightforward once the parts have been released from their pouring blocks. Overall it shouldn't take more than half an hour I guess. Painting shouldn't take much longer so this kit can really be considered as an evening project.

The construction notice is printed on an A5 sheet of paper. Included are a Part Layout Diagram, a two step assembly sequence and a painting guide (Humbrol). The construction drawings are easy to follow but it would have been nice to include an history or at least a photo of an original machine. However, since all doors are closed on the CMK kit, it isn't possible to represent the air compressor "in use" anyway.

Conclusion
CMK's German WWII Large Air Compressor is a nice little resin kit that will take you an evening to build and to paint. As such it is a model to consider placing aside a Luftwaffe aircraft if you don't want to invest too much of your time.

Hi Jean-Luc Nice review of a very interesting accessory. It's a shame it doesn't have optional open doors at least on one side, because the diorama possibilities are huge, but that would obviously bump the price up. All the best Rowan
