Finnish Air Force Swastikas "Hakaristi" and serials are hardly the most widely available decals, so Techmod's latest releases will answer many modellers' wishes. The sets are available in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales in the following combinations:

Set 32022 - 1 x sheet of national insignia on white disks and 2 x sheets of numerals in black and green. (RRP - 14.95 EUR)
Set 32023 - 1 x sheet of national insignia on blue-grey disks and 2 x sheets of numerals in black and green. (RRP - 14.95 EUR)

In each case the national markings and numerals are provided in the following full-size dimensions:
Hakaristi: 580, 650, 720, 790, 860, 940 and 1010mm
Numerals: 220, 225, 250, 275 and 350mm

Each sheet is accompanied by a placement diagram for the national insignia along with historical notes for the use of the different colour disks.

As I've come to expect from Techmod, the decals themselves are faultless; the registration is perfect and the individual designs are thin with minimal carrier film. The numerals are all individual, so you'll need to align them carefully - and some careful trimming will be needed to cater for the distinctive green codes on black background, and black on green, according to the camouflage pattern - but everything you need is here to cover every combination.

Conclusion

With so many kits available of the foreign aircraft used by the Finnish Air Force, but a relative dearth of decals to go with them, these sets will be an absolute gold-mine for modellers. 1/32 scale modellers miss out on the white numerals, but perhaps these will be released later. Nevertheless, pretty much any Finnish aircraft of the period is catered for - all you need is the references to pin down the scheme. Highly recommended.
