Introduction
In aviation, foreign object damage (FOD) is any article or substance, alien to an aircraft or system, which could potentially cause damage.
Most jet aircraft now have covers for the various delicate parts of the aircraft when its not in use, and Eduard have released a set of covers for the main areas that use them.

In the box
Packed in the now standard cardboard box, the 4 resin parts and one small fret of P.E are sealed in thier own bags, with a set of instructions folded at the bottom of the box.

This set comprises of the nose, exhaust and 2 small auxiliary intake covers.

Casting is near on perfect with no discrepancies in the resin.
The two larger parts are connected to a pouring block and will take some effort to remove. One bright point is they are connected by the back end of the part, so no detail will be lost removing them.
The two auxiliary intake covers are connected by one edge and will be very easy to remove.

The photo etch fret holds the handles for the covers, of which there are a few spare, which is a bit of luck as the handles are very small.

Instructions
The instruction sheet comprises of a three part build and placement sequence, which is easy to follow and tells you the part that need replacing (nose cone) and the position of each cover on the aircraft.
A little surgery is required to fit the exhaust cover on, which comprises removing the two protruding portions on the rear of the fuselage.
The one colour needed, which is red, are for the Aqueous and Mr Color paints.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.
SUMMARY
Highs: Well detailed, easy to assemble
Lows: Pour plugs are a little large of the two bigger parts.

I started modelling in the 70's with my Dad building Airfix aircraft kits. The memory of my Dad and I building and painting a Avro Lancaster on the kitchen table will always be with me. I then found a friend who enjoyed building models, and between us I think we built the entire range of 1/72 Airfi...
