The first 100 Tempest Vs were fitted with 20 mm (.79 in) Hispano Mk.IIs with long barrels which projected ahead of the wing leading edges and were covered by short fairings. The first batch of 100 Tempest V "Series Is", were distinguishable by their serial number prefix JNxxx.

Brass Bits
The four turned brass faired over Hispano cannons are well packed inside a sealed clear pouch and again in a press close plastic bag. There is no padding, but the nature of the turned brass items means there is little likely hood of them being damaged. The brass items themselves are superbly created. The muzzles can be seen and the barrels are drilled out. The fairings look long compared to reference material, but this gives you plenty of gluing area when attaching into the wing. The instructions are very exact about the placement and you will need a 2.2mm drill to create the holes. You will need cyanoacrylate glue to fix them in place.
Conclusions
This is my first look at the products from Master and I have to say I am very impressed. It’s almost a shame to cover them in paint.
SUMMARY
Highs: The quality of the work is superb. Detailed instructions.Lows: Not easy to photograph
Verdict: If you are going to town building your AMT, ESCI or better still Eduards Tempest Mk.V [early] then this set may be well worth considering.
