USAAF WWII Electricity Generator

by: Jean-Luc Formery [ TEDMAMERE ]

The kit
The little kit is composed of one Grey resin generator body, one Brownish resin block with seven additional parts and one copper wire. in the bag you also have a small instruction sheet and a colour picture as painting guide.

The main piece will need no other work than removing the little resin left over on the underside. The detail parts will require more attention to get them away undamaged from the casting bloc. Some are very small, so you better be careful! The copper wire is needed to do the handling bar of the generator. You will have to bend it to shape but this should not be a problem, even for a novice builder. You must also do the wheel axle with the same material.

The instructions are simple! Sure, this is a simple kit! With a total of 10 parts (wire parts included), it should be build in minutes!

Accuracy
Honestly, I couldn't found anything about this generator on the web so I can't tell you exactly if the model is accurate or not. But M. Meissonier (Signifer owner) sent me a reference picture showing this model of generator at Le Vallon Airfield in France. The "Groupe de Chasse" 11/6 equipped with P-39 Q Airacobra was based there in February 1945. In the picture, a young man in military uniform can also be seen: M. Meissonier himself! Concerning accuracy, it is convincing enough for me...

Conclusion
You plan to make a base for your latest WWII USAAF fighter model? For only a little additional work, a nice little Electricity Generator will spice up your diorama. Definitely recommended!

The kit is available directly from the manufacturer for 7,00€ (Europe) and 5,85€ (overseas).

Thank you to Signifer for kindly supplying the review sample.
SUMMARY
Finding original ground equipment for Aircraft Dioramas in 1/48 scale can be very difficult. So it is always nice when a manufacturer brings out a new field accessory. And if this manufacturer is Signifer, you can expect the best.
