The text is concise and details the design and development of the Jaguar through its 30 plus years of service. Whilst not crammed with facts and figures, it gives a good history of the aircraft and is an interesting read. There are also sections on the part played by the Jaguar in recent conflicts in the Middle East and the Balkans. The book also explains the different types used by the French, British and export customers and also hints at why there were so few export orders received from foreign governments of this impressive aircraft.

The black and white photos are informative, most of them being air/air pictures but there are quite a few showing the aircraft on the ground undergoing re-armament or servicing. Each photo has a caption explaining the picture and pointing out details; something of interest to model builders.

The most eye-catching part of the book are the colour profiles. There are ten profiles and each shows a different camouflage scheme carried by the Jaguar during its service life. The front and back covers also carry impressive colour artwork of the Jaguar in flight.

Conclusion
An interesting and welcome addition to the "in Action" series. Whilst not in any way a "walkaround" or in depth analysis, there is enough information and photographs for this book to be of help to anyone building a model of the Jaguar. One thing sadly missing is a picture of the upgraded cockpit, the only photo being the original one. Other than this one criticism the book is good value for money.
