Latest release from Aviaeology are these comprehensive decal sheets in 1/24, 1/48 and 1/72 for Hurricanes MkI. This is pretty complicated so I would sit down with a strong cup of coffee and pay attention. I will be asking questions later.

Special Edition
Early Hurricanes during the Battle of Britain and Beyond. Parts 1 and 2
Each set contains multiple decal sheets; quantities vary depending on the scale.
All decal sheets are screen-printed.
The 1/24 scale releases are each limited to an edition of 100 sets.
The 1/48 and 1/72 scale releases are limited to editions of 200 sets.
The whole collection covers 14 individual early Hurricanes. This is divided amongst parts 1 and 2 in 1/72 and 1/48 scale. A select 5 of those aircraft are covered in parts 1 and 2 in 1/24th scale.
A full set of airframe stencil data decals is provided. Besides stencil style variations, the different coloured versions as used with both nightfighter and non-nightfighter schemes are included as needed.
Alternate reds – bright and dull – are provided for all national insignia markings.
Detailed fully illustrated documentation covering scheme and markings interpretations, as well as modelling notes and tabulated data are included with each set. Supplied as clear high resolution b&w laser prints in the package.

These special editions are currently in production.
They will ship from the printers in the week of 15-19 November 2010 We will ship all accumulated orders within 3 business days of arrival. Pre-orders will be given shipping priority. Pre-order offer expires 7th November, 2010. Pre-offers will also receive free regular service shipping as well.

Vital Storm Part 1 1/24.
Hurricane I P2961 as LE•A of 242 Squadron. Canadian ace F/O McKnight’s well known Hurricane I is subject to some new interpretations here; the code lettering is more in keeping with photo evidence and the famous ‘Hitler gets the 242 boot’ artwork is provided for both sides of the nose.

Hurricane I N2381 as LE•X of 242 Squadron. Although the pilot is unknown, this earlier (than LE•A above) 242 Squadron aircraft features an interesting ‘skull and crossbones’ personal marking seemingly commemorating two victories.

Hurricane I (Trop) P3731 as ‘J’ of 261 Squadron. One of the Hurricanes shipped to Malta and flown by Sgt Robertson, a veteran of that campaign.

Code no: AOD24007.1
Price: $23.69. Pre-0rder $21.50

Vital Storm Part 2 1/24.
Hurricane I P2798 as LK•A of 87 Squadron. Ace Ian ‘Widge’ Gleed flew this aircraft through several finish and markings variations as covered here. In keeping with the photographic record, two versions of his ‘Figaro the Cat’ personal emblem are included.

Hurricane I P3576 as GN•A of 249 Squadron. Although no reference photos could be sourced prior to going to press, this set relies on photos of contemporaneous 249 Squadron machines and production batch similarities to arrive at a reasonable representation of F/L Nicolson’s historically important Victoria Cross action Hurricane.
