Alley Cat continue their amazing series of conversion sets for the Airfix 1/24 Mosquito. The Mk XVIII 'Tse-Tse' were fitted with a Molins "6-pounder Class M" cannon, weighing 1,580 lb (716 kg) fitted with an automatic loader to allow both semi- or fully-automatic fire, in the nose, along with two .303 in (7.7 mm) sighting machine guns. The cannon was later deleted. The Air Ministry initially suspected that this variant would not work, but mock tests proved otherwise. Although the gun provided the Mosquito with yet more anti-shipping firepower for use against U-boats it required a steady, and hence vulnerable, approach-run to aim and fire the gun.

Resin parts and photo-etched parts are included for the conversion. This is a really comprehensive conversion and it includes all the parts that are required to make this unique version of the Mosquito. The second image of the parts hopefully shows the armour plating that has been fitted to the relevant parts, also note the parts are cast so that the .303 guns in the kit can still be fitted and displayed open.
Masks are supplied, manufactured by Montex to enable one of five aircraft to be modeled, masks are supplied for the canopy (internal and external). Some of the kit decals are required to complete the markings.

I can confirm that this is a fabulous conversion - I've just started work on an Airfix Mossie using this set, and both casting quality and fit are top notch. I'll start a build log in the near future and get some pictures up. cheers Brad
