As a prelude to their full report on the 49th All-Japan Plamodel Hobby Show, HobbyLink Japan have released preview shots of some of the displays - including Tamiya's 1:32 Spitfire Mk. IX.
The kit includes two types of rudders and elevators, normal wings or clipped wings, a highly detailed cockpit, and a Merlin engine that you can inspect after assembly thanks to a clever system of magnets for the engine cowl panels.

The landing gear can be swapped out after assembly to depict it gear-up or gear-down and a display stand is included to depict the aircraft in flight. .

Photo-etched detail parts are also included, as are seated and standing pilot figures. Three marking options are provided.

Kit # TAM60319 is available for pre-order now at HobbyLink Japan , price: 9,800 Yen

Hi Jim Maybe there's just something about Spitfires! I'm sure Mal would agree! I remember I was in Hannants years ago the day Airfix released their 1:48 Spitfire Mk22/24 and Seafire 47. The staff were literally selling them straight from the packing cases as fast as they could open them - there wasn't even time to stick price tags on the kits and put them on the shelves! All the best Rowan
