Copper State Models has released a couple of images of a test build of their 1/32 scale Nieuport XVII
”Our latest kit is currently on a "Test bench", but even now it already looks like Nieuport XVII, and it`s 1/32 scale.”

Hi Tim Awesome! We've already noted that Copper State's recent 1:48 kits are like miniature Wingnut Wings models. So... with the move to 1:32... This should be spectacular! All the best Rowan

Ooooh nice! To bad I have two custom built Academy Nieuport 17s already on my shelf, but hey, one can never have too many Nieuports! I’ll have to look for this one when it comes out. The cone de’ penetration is especially nice, but I can’t really tell from the photos—- Are those the characteristic rivets around the cowl opening? VR, Russ

I've been wanting to build a Copper State kit. Any recommendations in 1/48 scale?

Although I haven't built it, I have seen the Salmson 2A2 in the box, and it looks really nice in 1/48 scale. I opted instead for the WnW Salmson, but comparing the two, the Copper State models Salmson is as nice in detail, just in a smaller scale. VR, Russ

Now that I'm looking at those cowl rivets (a detail sorely missed on the Academy/Hobbycraft kit), they do look a little odd to me-- I can't quite make out wether they are overscale or overdone, perhaps it's just the angle of the photo. I also note this must be a late model Nieuport 17, as it has the split cowl along the sides rather than the top panel opening cowl (which I think was found on most of the early French versions. Hopefully it will come with both cowl versions and a selection of Lewis Gunmounts. Still, this looks like an excellent kit, can't wait for it to be released! Thanks Copper State! VR, Russ

Hi all! As far as I know Copperstate will release two kits one early and one late, with plenty of marking options as extra decal sets. They are also working on french ground crews and pilots. Have a look over att their FB page By the way I will get at least one of each when released! /Mikael
