By AEROSCALE
There are some major staff changes we can report for AeroScale. After more than 10 years, Rowan Baylis, the sites Editor-in-Chief, is stepping down from the big chair and will be staying on but in more of a contributing role for AeroScale.
Rowan has been leading the site since it was founded in 2006, so this is a pretty big shift for the site and community. As the publisher of KitMaker, I would like to publicly thank him for his many years of service in this leadership role, and wish him well. I look forward to seeing him a bit less stressed and able to build models again. While being a volunteer staffer on KitMaker has it's rewards, it is still a lot of work, and you have to have the time and energy to spare for it or... well let's just hope Rowan's batteries aren't too seriously drained and we see him back in action soon. In the meantime...

I am pleased to say we do have a new staff member joining AeroScale. Kevin Brant will be joining us to manage the news section for AeroScale. You may remember Kevin from his work on Armorama and his own news blog site, The Sprue News. Kevin is eager to add his skills and energy to AeroScale and we look forward to that.

We are always on the lookout for new volunteers so if you think you have something to contribute, please contact us and we would be happy to give you more info about being a staffer. The long hours, the huge paycheck... oh... wait there is no paycheck. However I would like to point out that quite a few of our staff have gone on to do things in the hobby like becoming model consultants, editors for Tamiya magazine, and a few who regularly see their work published in industry leading magazines (yes Bill Plunk I am talking about you). :D

Thanks for reading about these changes and we look forward to hearing from the community what they think we should be doing to make AeroScale even better.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Rowan. I'm pleased to see you have released the "Stress" button. It will be good to see you modelling at your own pace and whims. Cheers Karl.

Rowan, Thanks for leading Aeroscale these past decade, I am sure that what this site is right now has much of you in it. Still, perhaps now we will see some models from your works more often, right? Cheers Pedro

Ten (10) years already? Well, time for something new for sure. Whomever will take your place has big shoes to fill Thanks a lot for all the work done. And please, please, please, please do stick around. I find it such a pity that some Aeroscale staffers who resign seem to wonder of in cyberspace and not much is heard of them afterwards.

All the best, Rowan. It has been a pleasure working with you, and I hope that your new direction will be full ceiling and a tailwind.

Congrats on a job very well done over the years Rowan, very much appreciated by the folks here and a hard act to follow. Like the others, I am very much looking forward to seeing a bit more of your modeling skills on display now. Cheers, D

Cheers everyone Don't worry Drabslab. Although I've got a bunch of stuff to sort out on the home front and may have to rather drop off the radar for a little while to do so, once I'm past that I hope to be more active on Aeroscale than I've managed to be in ages. All the best Rowan
